Laptop Buying Guide: 6 essential tips to know before you buy

Laptop Buying Guide- Dealzcafe

Whether you're writing a term paper, teaching a class, organizing a research project, or just surfing the web, you need the right laptop. It may seem a bit confusing at first to purchase a laptop. Several hundred different models are available, in several sizes, running at least three different operating systems, and range in price from 20,000 to 3,00,000 rupees.

To help you decide which laptop is the best match for your needs and budget, here are six tips.

1. A smaller screen is more portable.

Laptops typically have screens ranging in size from 11 to 17 inches. Everything on the system is sized to coincide with the display. In other words, smaller notebooks are lighter and smaller, while larger notebooks are bulkier. 15-inch models are good if you don't move the computer much. When you plan to use your laptop on your lap or carry it around, a laptop with a 13- or 14-inch screen, like the Dell XPS 13, may provide the best balance between screen size and portability. A model with a display size of 11.6 inches or 12.5 inches is easier to use for children under 12.  The only time you should buy a 17-inch laptop is if you're going to keep it on your desk.

2. Use a 1080p resolution at the very least.

Ideally (and they can even be found in under 30,000 rupees), you should get a laptop with a 1920 x 1080 screen resolution, also known as Full HD or 1080p resolution. It is easier to do multitasking when two windows can be stacked side by side because of the number of pixels.

3. Choose a laptop with a battery life of at least 8 hours.

Look for a laptop that offers at least 8 hours of battery life if you spend any time away from an outlet. The Asus ZenBook UX330UA, which lasts for 9 hours on a charge, is a great example of a long-lasting laptop at a reasonable price. Gaming laptops are exceptions to this rule since they require so much power.

4. The operating system:

Windows or macOS are better for adults, but Chromebooks are great for kids. Chromebooks are popular with schools because they are easy for children to use and hard to infect with malware. In terms of price and functionality, the Asus Chromebook Flip C302CA is the best Chromebook currently available. However, most people will enjoy the benefits of a Windows 10 laptop or MacBook. In terms of choosing Windows or macOS, Windows offers a lot more affordable options, including touch-screen laptops, while MacBooks tend to offer better security and more software for editing photos and videos.

5. If you need a touch screen, get a 2-in-1.

Today, many laptops are dual-mode computers, capable of switching between tablet and clamshell modes. Using these systems, such as the Lenovo Yoga, makes sense if you really want to use a touchscreen, but clamshell-style laptops are usually much better value for the money. Clamshells with touch screens are generally more expensive and have a shorter battery life than those without touch screens.

6. Features and specifications

It has a Core i3,i5, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of SSD storage. You should choose an Intel Core i5 processor (Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen Mobile are also good), 8GB of RAM, a 256GB solid-state drive (SSD), and a 1080p display if you're spending over 40,000 rupees. It's important to buy a solid-state drive instead of a hard drive because a solid-state drive makes all your programs load faster.
